Listed below are the most commonly asked questions about sodding as well as the other services we offer. If you do not see your question answered here please do not hesitate to CONTACT us! We welcome all your questions.
A. 450 Sq. feet
A. Approximately 160 pieces
A. Simple math can give you this answer. Length x Width = Sq. Ft. Area. Simply take the number of Sq. ft. you have and Divide it by 450 sq. ft. This will tell you how many pallets you need.
Ex. If you have an area of 45 ft. by 90ft. this will equal 4,050 sq. ft. To find out how many pallets that would be take 4,050 and divide it by 450 which = 9 pallets.
A. Jobs under 20 pallets of sod can typically be completed in one day. We normally continue work with a light rain but weather conditions can interrupt installation. Jobs over 20 pallets can vary from 1 to 2 days depending on the size of the job.
A. For jobs less than 10 pallets our fee is $169.00 for delivery and installation. For jobs of at least 10 Pallets or more please call us for special pricing. Any job over 20 Pallets is considered commericial and is priced differently. You will need to call or email for specific installation estimates and pricing.
A. On a case – by – case basis. Please call or email your specific needs.[Click here to send us an email].
A. We install St Augustine Sod. It’s the most popular kind for the State of Texas and handles the weather and soil best. Also, it is shade tolerant up to 60% sunlight.
A. Weeds should be trimmed or ‘burned down’ and a weed killer like ‘round up’ can be applied two days prior to installation. Ground should be clean and free of junk or pet waste.
A. Water the Sod in the first day for at least one solid hour. The goal is to get out the pockets of air and get the newly laid Sod to adhere to the underlying soil. Sod should be watered for the first 21 days two times a day early and after the sun sets. After that, two times a week is plenty, depending on weather and other seasonal conditions.
A. DON’T WATER SOD EVERY DAY = this discourages deeper root growth needed to get a drought tolerant lawn. Heavy watering once your Sod is rooted is not only a waste of water, a vital natural resource, and an additional expense for the property owner, but will encourage several kinds of weeds to grow. It is better to water every other or every third day for a longer period of time than water every day.
A. Cut freshly installed turf about 3 – 4 weeks after installation when the turf [lawn grass] has some growth. Seasonal factors like winter and summer can lengthen or shorten the time rooting takes place. Give the sod a tug – if it comes up or moves – it’s not rooted.
In the course of business, we take on smaller jobs or jobs that require driving a distance. Since our rate for materials and labor is uniform, this fee helps us server smaller jobs and a wider area.
